The election of 2023/2024 LeadingAge Kansas Board of Director members will take place at the 8:00 AM annual business meeting taking place at the upcoming Spring Conference April 14th.  

After review of qualifications, interviews and time in serious deliberation, the Nominating Committee moves to nominate the following slate of candidates for election to the LeadingAge Kansas Board of Directors in 2023/2024: 
  

For Officer Positions: 

  • For a second 1-year term as Chair – Teresa McComb from Logan Manor Community Health Services in Logan. 
  • For Chair-Elect – Karen Sturchio from Kansas Christian Home in Newton. 


For second 3-year terms: 

  • Tammy Pettijohn of SunPorch of Smith County in Smith Center 
  • Charlotte Rathke of Locust Grove Village in LaCrosse 
  • Cheyenne Strunk of Ascension Living – Via Christi Village in Manhattan 
  • Shawn Sullivan of Midland Care Connection based in Topeka  


For a first 3-year board term: 

  • Michael Griffin of Larksfield Place in Wichita

Rachel Monger, JD, LACHA is President/CEO. Rachel joined LeadingAge Kansas in 2011 as the Director of Government Affairs and has been a powerful voice for our membership ever since. Rachel is a Kansas licensed attorney and adult care home administrator. She received her bachelor’s degree from Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington, MA, and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law. Over the years, Rachel has served in many volunteer roles in her community and in the state of Kansas to support senior needs, aging services education, and community mental health services. She is also a member of the Board of Governors for the Kansas Health Care Stabilization Fund. As an award-winning trial lawyer, turned award-winning senior care advocate, she has spent nearly two decades passionately supporting quality of care and quality of life for Kansas seniors.
