As you already know, the theme of this year’s OAM—Age My Way—provides an opportunity for us to address two major challenges facing older adults: lack of awareness of existing aging services and a crisis in access to care.  We will provide materials and implementation ideas for members in the morning emails and at leadingage.org on Monday—and we’ve got NEW OAM talking points (and pasted below) you can use to frame your OAM messages.

  • Public Awareness Efforts: We will continue to deploy Keep Leading Life, our new public awareness campaign (part of our Opening Doors to Aging Services), in social media. Assets are available now and we’ll provide sample copy connecting the materials to OAM. On May 4 and 24, we will collectively flood social channels with our two new videos from the Keep Leading Life campaign to try to get maximum traction.
  • Elevating Access Issues: We will continue our ongoing media, advocacy and thought leadership efforts around ensuring access to aging services. Our national activity will include media outreach, including a kick-off press release and ongoing national and regional pitching. We’ll also send a Policy Action Alert in May. Talking points for your use are available now.
