An active shooter in the long-term setting is something no one wants to think about, but preparation for this type of emergency is a must. With the additional challenges for preparation and response in this environment, this Active Shooter Prevention and Response for Long-Term Care training will explore pre-incident prevention and preparation, during incident response, and post incident planning and response specifically for long-term care settings. The training will provide tools and strategies from the individual employee and at the organizational level. Engaging learning exercises and a multiple part tabletop exercise will provide opportunities to apply what they learn.
To maximize the impact of the training and application in organizations, we recommend attending as a group of at least four. This might include safety committee members, staff from various departments/roles/shifts and leadership. No cost CE credits are available for those attending.
