Today’s older adults’ contributions to society do not end at the age of 65. In fact, for many, this was just the beginning. At this year’s LeadingAge Annual Meeting and EXPO, through our initiative WORDS FROM THE WISE, LeadingAge and PS Salon & Spa will recognize outstanding people who have had a significant impact on their communities after the age of 65. Three adults will be selected and interviewed live in Philadelphia on our WORDS FROM THE WISE Stage inside the EXPO hall. Those selected will receive free registration, hotel accommodations, and a travel stipend to attend. Seven additional adults will be featured on the public ageism exhibit located in a high traffic area of Philadelphia along with the 3 interviewees. Your nominee must have had a significant impact on the lives of others after the age of 65. People who qualify for recognition may have contributed to different fields such as the arts, literature, community service, volunteering, education, environment, fitness, science, and humanitarian activities. You cannot nominate someone who is deceased. The Deadline for Nominations is August 30.  Selections will be announced on September 21. Nominate an Extraordinary Elder Today.
