CMS has released revised protocol for surveyors relating to the new Home Health Conditions of Participation that became effective January 13th. The update provides more information on how home health agencies will be surveyed under the new CoPs, which dictate how providers qualify to offer Medicare-certified services. The update comes as home health agencies are still waiting on the finalized interpretive guidelines (IGs) from CMS on the new regulations. The IGs are likely to offer additional explanations for certain requirements. The revised CoP protocols assign new survey G tags to the standards and provide more information about how surveyors will prepare for home health agency surveys. The new tags went into use on January 22nd.

CMS will host a Home Health Review and Correct Reports Webinar on Tuesday, March 6th, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM central time. Register here, or see the Home Health Quality Reporting Training webpage for details.
