The Facility Assessment that will be implemented in Phase 2 of the new Rules of Participation will need to be completed annually. The purpose is to determine the resources necessary to care for your residents. This includes staffing, equipment, physical plant, census, and resident acuity. This is a detailed assessment that needs to be considered sooner rather than later, as all of these items will affect your operating budget. Ongoing analysis of these items is critical to prove that your organization is prepared to serve your residents.
