The National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) now offers the Health Services Executive ™ (HSE) qualification, a broad-based credential which will allow talented administrators to practice along the continuum of health services and supports and enjoy portability of their HSE license. To earn the HSE qualification, an administrator will document their education and experience, and pass a comprehensive exam that covers the core of knowledge from all lines of service, as well as modules in NHA, RCAL and Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS). To recognize existing competencies required of an entry level administrator, NAB has established a grandparent clause for those interested in obtaining the HSE Qualification. In lieu of successful completion of the NAB Line of Service (LOS) exams (Resident Care and Assisted Living (RCAL) and/or the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS)), administrators who meet the qualifications below would not be required to complete those specific areas of exams if competency is demonstrated by experience. Please review the Grandparent Clause to learn more. Questions? Contact NAB.
