Many LeadingAge Kansas members have had their incentive dollars severely slashed as a direct result of the escalation of high scope and severity citations over the past year plus. The total given out in incentives has plummeted by $1M in the last year. LeadingAge Kansas has been advocating for a solution to this serious and counterproductive collision of agency policies. KDADS will host a first meeting of a newly formed group that will examine the issue of the impact of nursing home deficiency scope and severity on providers’ quality incentive and PEAK payments. They will develop recommendations for the Agency on how to address this issue. Chris Osborn, CEO of Evergreen Community-Olathe and LeadingAge Kansas Board member, will represent LeadingAge Kansas. Other LeadingAge Kansas members serving on the group include Amy Hoch-Altwegg, Village Manor-Abilene and Kris Erickson, Bethany Home-Lindsborg.
We encourage every member with an experience or concern about this problem to email Chris Osborn, Amy Hoch-Altwegg, Kris Erickson, and copy Lisa Stuever.
