While the official Tour de France was taking place, residents and staff held their own “Tour de France” at Cedar Lake Village in Olathe. They signed up to ride the NuSteps in 15-minute increments throughout the whole day. The riders donated $5 or more to ride, and those unable to ride could still participate with a donation. Total amount raised was $891.60. CLV bought six children’s bicycles with helmets and accessories for each and four $20 WalMart gift cards, all given to four different families in need in Olathe. The residents and staff are really excited that six children will now have a brand new bicycle to ride. Congratulations to everyone who participated.
