The LeadingAge Kansas Board of Directors met on Wednesday, December 3 to finalize the legislative priorities ahead of the 2026 legislative session. The finalized priorities include a focus on Medicaid reimbursement and addressing the state being over capacity on the HCBS-FE waiver, making reforms to our life safety code and health survey agencies, passing healthcare staffing agency standards comparable to Missouri, addressing any bottlenecking in our workforce pipeline, and monitoring some other issues that may be brought by other groups. The Public Policy Committee has a standing meeting scheduled for each Friday throughout session in case immediate feedback or support is needed on an issue.
