PBJ Audit Feedback Needed
LeadingAge Kansas is seeking feedback from providers who have recently participated in a PBJ audit on their experience and how the association can help with education for future audits. Send information or feedback to Kylee Childs.
Pharmacies Going Out of Network with MCOs
We’ve heard from some rural nursing homes in South Central Kansas that a number of their residents would be impacted by a pharmacy organization going out of network with an MCO provider. A number of nursing homes and residents are expected to be impacted by this and education to residents on what this means for them can be provided.
Our understanding is this is occurring due to ongoing concerns around Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs). There is a bill expected to be introduced in the Kansas Legislature this year to address these issues and LeadingAge Kansas plans to submit written testimony highlighting examples of the impact for providers and their residents. Send your stories on how your organization and residents have or will be impacted if this trend continues to Kylee Childs.
Join Us for Aging Services Legislative Day on February 18
After a wildly successful Aging Services Day at the Capitol in 2024, we are collaborating again with KHCA and KACE to organize our 2025 Aging Services Day on February 18, 2025. Registration is now open for members of each association to join us for a full day of legislative advocacy. In the morning, we will be debriefing at The Beacon, right across the street from the Capitol building, and then we will walk as a group to the Capitol to enjoy lunch with legislators, observe House and Senate sessions from the gallery, and meet with individual legislators.
Registration for the full day is $75, which includes lunch, light breakfast, and some Aging Services Day SWAG. Priority registration ends January 31, so we encourage you and your team to register early!
