On June 30, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) sent a letter to LeadingAge President and CEO Katie Smith Sloan and to the American Health Care Association (AHCA) President and CEO Mark Parkinson asking questions about the filing of our lawsuit to throw out CMS’s nursing home staffing final rule. The letter calls the lawsuit, our efforts to pass a resolution of disapproval of the rule, and other efforts “shameless attempts to sabotage a long-overdue CMS rule that would help millions of seniors living in nursing homes receive better quality care.” LeadingAge is preparing their response to Senator Warren and Representative Schakowsky.
