Week 8 at the Kansas Statehouse
While it was a slow start for most committees after turnaround, the budget committees took off full speed with KDHE and KDADS budget report outs to the full House Appropriations and Senate Ways and Means committees. Each of our requests in subcommittees made it through these report outs, but still have the potential to be reworked in the next couple weeks as the committees work the mega budget bills, SB 514 and HB 2802. The comprehensive workers compensation bill, SB 430, was worked in House Commerce and has been placed on the consent calendar for the House. If no amendments are added through the House chamber floor, the bill will be sent to the Governor for review and signature. There were no other hearings of interest for aging services this week.
