On December 8th, an opinion column was submitted by Addison Stover, a KABC volunteer and CNA, who called for increased staffing standards in the state of Kansas. Then on December 15th, Graham Kreicker, a former KABC board member, submitted a follow-up opinion calling for the same in the Lawrence World Journal. While sympathetic to their experiences, a crucial point was missing from each opinion: solutions. LeadingAge Kansas Director of Government Affairs, Kylee Childs, submitted a response column to the Topeka-Capitol Journal outlining these opinions and calling for further collaborative solutions to address the staffing crisis versus clinging to an idealistic mandate.
