Congressional Representative Fischbach from Minnesota has introduced legislation that, if passed, will prohibit the Secretary of Health and Human Services from finalizing the proposed minimum staffing rule and will establish an advisory panel on the nursing home workforce. Representatives Greg Pence (IN) and Dusty Johnson (SD) have co-sponsored the bill. We need our congressional representatives in Kansas to co-sponsor the bill and our congressional senators to introduce a coinciding bill from their chamber. The bill has been referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, in addition to the Committee on Ways and Means, for a period to be determined by the Speaker. We need to take action now – contact your congressional delegates today! Go to our VoterVoice landing page to send your message.
