This 4-week course combines independent online learning with Zoom sessions and includes all the requirements from the state-approved operator’s course for assisted living and state licensed only adult care homes. In addition to requirements, the concept of service, dementia and how dementia impacts the lives of elders is covered. This course is convenient and facilitates learning and builds relationships with the faculty and other students. A state-mandated test to become a certified operator will be administered online via Zoom after successful completion of the course. After passing the test, the student is qualified to become the operator of a state licensed only adult care home in Kansas. 

Course Dates: February 8th through March 8th  

*Mandatory Zoom Meetings are February 8th and March 8th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

A graduate of Wichita State University’s Math Education program, Addy is using her planning and organizational skills, creativity, and love of helping others to support our providers and members. First as Administrative Coordinator and now as Associate Director of Communications & Events, Addy’s primary duties include overseeing general member communications through social media, our Weekly Member Calls, the Aging Update, and database and website maintenance. She also collaborates with the team to plan, produce, and market events across all aspects of LeadingAge Kansas, manage Continuing Education processing.. Outside of the office, Addy enjoys crafting, playing board games, video games, and DnD, and spending time with her husband and their two cats.
