The Kansas Housing Resources Corporation administers essential programs that allow communities and service organizations to help Kansans find the safe, affordable housing they need and the dignity they deserve.

They published a Statewide Housing Needs Assessment in December 2021. Here’s the Executive Summary. The Regional Assessment helps identify where some challenges may be more critical in various regions of the state. 

A tool that you might find helpful regarding your question about “drilling down” Drilling down, the interactive Storymap tool identifies certain factors (e.g. age, housing age, age of ownership, etc.) in every county of the state. LeadingAge Kansas encourages members to look at the Storymap for their county and/or surrounding counties as they consider new ways to fulfill their mission of service.

Turning to your final question about resources, KHRC administers a variety of program that assist seniors, whether our emergency programs providing relief in response to the pandemic (Kansas Emergency Rental Assistance/Kansas Homeowner Assistance Fund), or traditional programs like Weatherization Assistance that can rehab a senior’s home to make it more comfortable, safe, and energy efficient for the homeowner/tenant.  Here’s a link to the various program fact sheets on our website which can help your members:
