Ascension Via Christi Hospital and Meadowlark invite all Manhattan-area healthcare professionals and their families to a free concert in the park on Saturday, Aug. 13th. The concert will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Larry Norvell Band Shell in Manhattan City Park.

Healthcare workers can enjoy rock-and-roll music by Crosswind. The band was first organized in 1978 and will be inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame in July 2022.

Organizations continue to navigate challenges that resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic. “We’ve seen the exhaustion and the burn out amongst workers in the healthcare industry,” said Sarah Duggan, Community Relations Director at Meadowlark. “It is important to create and support opportunities to show appreciation to these valuable professionals.”

Meadowlark is a not-for-profit retirement community founded in 1980 by a group of local citizens and six Manhattan churches who wanted a better living option for older adults in the area. Today, Meadowlark continues to meet the needs of the community through living accommodations, post-acute care, home health care, outreach programs focused on memory support and Parkinson’s disease, and providing a supportive work environment for team members.

Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan is a healthcare leader serving northeast Kansas. They strive to promote community health by providing quality, compassionate healthcare services.
