Happening Now: SPARK News- KDADS Recommendations
Here are the recommendations made by KDADS today for additional SPARK CARES Act funding:
- $5M fund for essential health care workers that are employed onsite. (Few details available currently.)
- Total of $23.6M additional for nursing home funding for 120 days, for all residents regardless of payor source, but payments sent out through the Medicaid system. Clarification forthcoming.
- 5% increase for PACE and HCBS/FE.
- Total $12.5M for Behavioral Health and Aging Assistance programs such as community mental health centers, AAAs, substance abuse providers.
The LTC associations will follow up with KDADS in our weekly meeting tomorrow.
State Holds Statewide COVID-19 Testing Strategy and KDADS’ Adult Care Home Testing Plan Requirements – What You need to Know
Dr. Farah Ahmed, State Epidemiologist, Kansas Department of Health and Environment and Scott Brunner, Deputy Secretary, Kansas Department for Aging and Disabilities Services held an informational webinar about the Statewide COVID-19 Testing Strategy and KDADS’ requirement for adult care homes testing plans today.

KDADS PPE Survey for Adult Care Homes
If you have not already done so, we encourage you to complete the survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QK8YJ2Q. Survey results will assist the agency to fulfill their new requirement, as contained in House Bill 2016, to provide necessary PPE to adult care homes.
