KANSAS UPDATES

  • KDADS surveyors have contacted every home plus to: 1) inquire if they have any COVID-19 positive cases, 2) request their infection control policies related to COVID-19 (to ensure they actually have a policy), 3) to ask if they have adequate PPE, 4) provide information and CDC guidance/KDHE information as needed, and 5) offer support. Assisted Living survey teams are requesting that providers provide them with their infection control policies. Questions?   • The state of Kansas is developing a plan to implement Vice President Mike Pence’s recent directive to do COVID-19 testing on all nursing home staff and residents. No further details are known, other than it will take more than the original 2 weeks to implement.
  • 160 individuals in Kansas had taken the temporary aide online class as of last week. Here is more information about the temporary aide requirements and the approved course for Kansas
  • KDADS plans to rebase 2021 Medicaid Nursing Facility rates (effective July 1, 2020) to 2017-2019 with inflation through April 30, 2019. Preliminary rates will be published in the May 21, 2020 Kansas Register.
  • There are 8,340 COVID-19 cases in Kansas today. These numbers represent ONLY individuals that have had a positive COVID-19 test. | Map of COVID-19 in KS.
