Temporary Nurse Aide Resources
KDADS recently provided guidance to providers on EO 20-23 which allows for a Temporary Nurse Aide to be employed during this crisis. To be temporarily certified as a Temporary Nurse Aide, an individual must complete the free to anyone 8-hour online course as well as an associated skills competency checklist signed off by a licensed nurse. This course is hosted by ACHA, but you do not have to be a member or affiliated with a member to take the course. Individuals can take it before applying for a position.
This is a great opportunity to temporarily skill up other employees in your building who do not have their CNA during the pandemic. Its also an opportunity to hire displaced workers. We have created a couple of tools to help through this:
- Here is a customizable Temporary Nurse Aide Job Description that can be updated with your facility’s policies.
- Here is a customizable Job Ad for Temporary Nurse Aide to hire individuals who are temporarily looking for work.
- Post your ads on Kansasworks.com as that is a central location for all displaced workers to use. It will be picked up by Indeed and other major job boards. The best part? It’s free.
