Hats off to a handful of our Topeka nursing home members including Brewster Place, Aldersgate Village and Topeka Presbyterian Manor who are meeting regularly with Stormont Vail Health and the Shawnee County Health Department to discuss surge capacity and inform them about the realities of nursing homes. Aldersgate and Brewster will be able to have a dedicated neighborhood to care for active cases. IN A SURGE CAPACITY situation. In the interim, they are being careful not to introduce active cases into their building if they can avoid it to reduce harm to their current residents.

If you and other providers are doing this in your communities, we want to know.
