With the continued focus on reducing psychotropic medication use rates and new enforcement plans for some CMS identified “late adopters”, you may be looking for resources to help track and potentially reduce the use rate in your organization. The National Nursing Home Quality Improvement Campaign recently released the Dementia Care and Psychotropic Medications Tracking Tool. The no-cost tool provides an approach for tracking individual preferences and psychotropic medication use for those living with dementia as well as data reports to understand overall use patterns in your organization.

For more information and to access the tool, visit the National Nursing Home Quality Improvement Campaign or listen to the audio recording from the March 11, 2019 Medicare Learning Network webinar focused on the tool.

In addition, you can also gain valuable information as a LeadingAge member by using Quality Insights:Quality Tools. The tool allows you to track Medicare data over time as well as 5 star information.
