Webinar: Caring Through COVID-19 – Navigating the Pandemic

May 14, 2020 | 1:00 – 2:00 PM

We are implementing many strategies to sufficiently address safety, health and comfort of our residents and staff during the current pandemic. Some of these strategies include updating our facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Policies and Procedures; and Emergency Preparedness and Operations. We have established processes to continually observe and ensure that staff are compliant with appropriate practices in hand hygiene, PPE, environmental sanitation, and symptom identification. A solid system has been implemented to restrict all non-essential individuals from visiting the facility; and have a consistent process for the screening and assessment of all persons who are entering the building (including staff, medical directors, attending physicians, and medically essential vendors). The pharmacist consultant has a process of prioritizing and implementing evidence-based recommendations in order to reduce medication burden and staff-to-resident contact.

Presented by Betsy Reynolds, PharmD, BCGP and Rodney Whittington
