STATE UPDATES

There are 150 active clusters (aka outbreaks) in the state today, with 43 of those in LTC settings.  So far there have been a total of 387 COVID-19 related deaths reported in Kansas. Case rate continues to climb at 10.89/1,000 citizens. Read more and find your county-specific information.

Board of Nursing
Executive Order 20—49 extends the expiration date of nursing licenses in “good standing” that were to expire in March, April, May and June 2020 to September 15, 2020. These licenses must be renewed on or before September 15, 2020. Those licenses will lapse if not renewed by that date. The mandatory continuing education requirement must be met at the time of renewal. Board of Nursing.

Technology Grants Extended to AL, HP and Other Adult Care Homes- Apply Now

KDADS has secured funds to purchase electronic devices that will enable residents to visit with family and friends in a virtual setting and participate in telehealth visits. More details here. 

Grant applications will be accepted until September 7, 2020 or until the maximum allotment for the grant has been reached.  Grants will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. Applications should be submitted here.

KDADS will notify applicants of their funding decision via email.

Nicole Schings is the Director of Member Services and Business Development. She oversees the Partnership/Sponsorship program, recruitment and retention of the association’s provider and associate members as well as coordinating all aspects of online education. Nicole graduated from Washburn University and is a Platinum Geocacher. Her favorite thing about working at the association is to bring new partners in to help us better serve members. Along with her geocaching hobby, Nicole enjoys spending time with her dog, Blu.
